Penrose Place

Penrose Place is a 15 unit, two-story HUD 202 PRAC subsidized complex for individuals or their spouse at least 62 years of age that meet income requirements. The one-bedroom, unfurnished apartments are cozy and comfortable with complete kitchens. Each apartment has its own thermostat controlled furnace and air conditioner. A laundry room is available within the facility on the first floor and is equipped with two washers and two dryers at no charge. An elevator is located in the center of the building to assist residents with movement throughout the complex. A community room can host a number of recreational and leisure programs for the residents who reside at Penrose Place. The community room is also a great place for the residents to sit and visit throughout the day. Local residents may also schedule the community room for social gatherings.

  • Income limits: Single $25,300, Couple $28,900
  • The individual or their spouse must be at least 62 years of age.
  • Rent is based on a resident's adjusted gross income at approximately 30%, which is calculated by subtracting approved medical expenses from their income.

Volunteers of America's affordable housing services programs promote health and independence for those whose age is 62 or over. Social and leisure programs available include:

  • Socials
  • Birthday Parties
  • Potluck Suppers
