Camp POSTCARD 2020

It is with sadness that I’m writing to share with you that Volunteers of America Northern Rockies (VOA), after consulting with state and community officials, has decided that the responsible decision is to cancel Camp POSTCARD 2020/2021 in Montana, Wyoming and Western South Dakota.

Camp POSTCARD (Peace Officers Striving To Create And Reinforce Dreams) is a free week-long camp designed to benefit at risk fifth and sixth graders, and was to be operated by VOA at Outlaw Ranch in Custer, SD, Allen H. Stewart Lions Camp in Casper, WY, and Beartooth Christian Camp near Fishtail, MT. All three camps have been canceled for 2020 and 2021.

Volunteers of America remains committed to Camp POSTCARD and will hope to operate camps again in 2022. The health and safety of the campers, officers, staff, volunteers and the communities they all call home are our top priority.

We will be working to maintain our connection with officers and past campers through small local Camp Fire Dinners, as well as using technology to keep past campers engaged with each other and their local school resource officers. Their experiences will help develop young leaders and teach them to be responsible citizens in their communities.

To the donors who help fund camp each year, we are grateful for your support. A representative of Volunteers of America may be in contact with you shortly to see how you would like to see your gift used, whether it be transferred to Camp POSTCARD 2022, or used to fund local activities, including Camp Fire Dinners. We, and all those impacted by Camp POSTCARD, thank you for your support.

Please join us in a “Motivation Check” in honor of Camp POSTCARD 2020: “Motivated … Motivated … Downright Motivated … You check us out … You check us out … SMOOOOOOOTH … Huh Huh Huh!”
